Trout fishing is a bit different than other types of fishing; mainly because these fish are found in small rivers and streams in many cases. For me there doesn't have to be a reason to go fishing.
Take a minutes to ponder on why you want to learn fishing and what you plan to gain from it. Many fishermen feel this way, and they love fishing for the fun of it and for the chance to have a break from everything. A bass is like a hunter, they will ambush the food in which they are trying to get and eat.
Even if you make a choice now as to which type of fish you want to fish for, you needn't fish for that one type all the time, it's just that many anglers do have a preference. I believe in using live worms as bait as much or more than any other single bait. The most efficient way to carry live worms while fishing is to employ a bait bag.
When you use devices such as bait bags, rod rulers, and retractors, you become a much more efficient trout angler, which results in more fish. Once you learn where and when fish eat and what time of day they are more likely to feed, you will have a lot more success.
